Tomorrow (Sunday) morning, I leave Western Pennsylvania for Sylva NC, to speak to the great folks at the Western North Carolina Civil War Roundtable. The topic will be my book on Jeb Stuart’s Ride to Gettysburg, co-authored by Eric Wittenberg. The meeting is Monday night, but with a 10-hour drive ahead of me, I’m using Sunday to drive the beautiful trek through the West Virginia mountains and western NC. Monday I’ll be able to nose around the Sylva area before heading off to the meeting. Plenty of stuff to see there, so I’m sure I’ll put the free day to good use. I’ll just have to do a little penance and absolution with the better half when I return on Tuesday, since I’ll be on the road for Mother’s Day!
I’ll post a report when I return, and I wish all our Moms out there a very happy day with the family.
